Milling
oak in the yard.
Milling
on site.
The founding principle for setting up a mobile timber milling service was to utilise good, sound timber that would otherwise have been destined for the bonfire or at best the firewood pile. Many of the logs that I mill (saw into timber) are single pieces that would either be uneconomic to send to a sawmill for processing, or that hold some sentimental value for the owner; having had the tree felled, what better end than for it to be milled on site (or

at the yard) and have a beautiful and enduring object such as a piece of furniture made from it. Whilst milling, not only am I looking at the log with a view to what useable timber can be extracted, but with my artistic background, I am also looking at the creative possibilities that may arise in the process.

The mill fits onto a 12ft trailer and providing I can get the trailer to the site, I can set the mill up around the tree. Alternatively, if itıs possible to get the log to the yard, then I can mill it there. The sawmill can tackle logs up to 5 feet in diameter and 20 feet long and can cut up to 20 inch x 10 inch beams. I usually have a selection of hardwood timber, air-dried, partially seasoned or freshly sawn (green) in the yard. In addition some timber can be cut to order. Please contact me to discuss your requirements, pricing etc.
