For the second year running I will be cutting an area of 20 year old Sweet Chestnut coppice in a SSSI area as part of an ongoing programme to maintain a habitat for dormice. This wood is excellent for outdoor projects around the garden or small holding. The heartwood is extremely durable (equal to oak) without the need for preservatives. Because of its much higher ratio of heartwood to sapwood compared to oak, even the small diameter rods can last a good while outdoors. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
